過去式BE動詞was were文法句型

1.「主詞＋be動詞過去式＋補語.」。

I was happy last night.       我昨晚很開心。

2.  be動詞後的補語可為「形容詞」、「名詞片語」或「地方副詞片語」等。

My parents weren’t at home last night.       我父母親昨晚不在家。

Judy was fat before. 茱蒂以前很肥。

They were students ten years ago. 他們十年前是學生。

3. 形成過去式be動詞疑問句只要將be動詞移到句首即可。

A: Was Mike a salesman ten years ago?                    B: No, he wasn’t.

A：Mike十年前是位銷售員嗎？                            B：不，他不是。

過去式BE動詞was were記法口訣

因為am 與is 都是只有兩個字，所以字多配字多字少配字少，因為are三個字所以要搭配字多的 were。

如果這樣還是無法熟記什麼代名詞要使用was 與were 還有單複數的記法

I He She It  還有一個人的一般人名  這都是單數，所以少數人吃少，所以搭配字量數比較少的was。至於You (單複數) They We  兩個或兩個人以上的人名 ，這類的因為是複數所以人多吃的東西也多，只好要搭字多的were。而有人會說you單數時是不是就不是何使用這個背法，因為它是要搭were的，但是you是第二人稱很餓所以要吃多。

其實只要把單複數的was 與were搞清楚後，要使用Be動詞照句其實就很容易了，因為會使用到BE動詞的時機也只有形容主詞時(形容詞)、說明主詞職業、身分或關係時(名詞)、說明主詞身處何地(地方副詞)等。

例如： I was young before.  我以前很年輕。

I was a student before. 我以前是為學生。 

I was in the classroom two hours ago. 我兩小時前在教室裡。

其實過去式並不難，只要適時的搭配過去式時間與過去式動詞，就可以造出完美的句子，說明在過去的某時間內的狀態。

過去式時態時間副詞

過去時間副詞大致分為五類，只要有過去時間副詞出現的句子，就要使用過去式動詞。但this＋時間點等系列的時間副詞，須根據上下文意作為判斷。

過去式時間副詞總整理

小提醒：last+時間單位(單數名詞)

一段時間+ago→數字+時間單位+ago ★時間單位單複數依前面數字做變化。

※this+一段時間→時態需「視情況而定」，會依照說話者當下的時間不同而有不同的時態，可以是「過去式」、「現在式」、「未來式」。

例如：(說話者的說話時間為今年冬天)，I was a student this summer. →夏天時間已過→過去式。

(說話者說話時間為當週星期五)，I visited the museum this Tuesday. 我這週二去博物館。星期二發生在星期五之前→過去式。

(說話者時間為春天時)，There will be a tall building in the country this summer . 今年夏天鄉下將有一座高建築物。還沒發生→未來式。

There was a tall building before.→以前有現在沒有了→使用過去式。

★其他類的時間副詞(before、then=at that time、the day before yesterday、just)，皆需單獨存在，不可與時間單位連用。

無yesterday night的用法，只可使用last night（昨天晚上）。
