harm v. [T] 傷害，損害

吹風機的熱氣會傷害你的頭髮。

harmful adj. 有害的

Eating too much candy is harmful to your teeth.
吃太多糖果對牙齒有害。

harmless adj. 無害的

This pesticide can kill mosquitoes, ticks, rats and mice, but it is harmless to human. 這種農藥會致死蚊子、壁蝨、老鼠，但對人類無害。

do harm to ... 對……有害

Using cellphone for a long time may do harm to your eyes.

長時間使用手機可能對你的視力有害。

 

do somebody harm對某人有害，傷害某人

I beg your pardon. I didn’t mean to do you harm. 很抱歉。我不是故意要對你造成傷害的。

I beg your pardon.亦可表示為聽不清楚對方說的話，「請對方再說一次」

 

do more harm than good 有害而無利

All talk and no action would do more harm than good. 光說不練是有害而無利的。

mean no harm無惡意

 

I must make myself clear that my words mean no harm to anyone.我必須嚴正澄清我的話對任何人並無惡意。
