對等連接詞and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet

對等連接詞可以用來連接句子中的字、片語或子句。對等顧名思義就是連接詞兩端必須是對等的:「字」和「字」、「片語」和「片語」或「子句」和「子句」。詞性需要對等「名詞」和「名詞」、「動詞」和「動詞」、「形容詞」和「形容詞」

連接子句與子句的時候，置於中間，前加逗號。

She is beautiful , and she has a kind heart.

相關連接詞either… or, neither… nor, both … and

相關連接詞與對等連接詞類似，也是用來連接兩端對等的元素，唯一不同的是相關連接詞必須成對使用。

從屬連接詞after, because, if, as though, in order that

從屬連接詞引導從屬子句與主要子句結合形成為一個複句，從屬子句在某種程度上是用來修飾主要子句。從屬子句需使用現在是代替未來式

時間after, before, as soon as, while, when, as

原因as, because, since

條件as long as, if, provided that, unless, If not

對比although, though, even though

副詞子句

1. 時機：用來修飾主要子句的動詞、形容詞或副詞。

2. 句型：副詞子句,＋主要子句.＝主要子句＋副詞子句.

副詞子句	例句
because	I was sad because I lost the baseball game. →because副詞子句為「說明sad的原因」。（我感到傷心因為我輸了這場棒球比賽。）
if	If I had a car, I could drive it around Taiwan. → if 副詞子句用來修飾主要子句的drive it to travel around Taiwan. （如果我有車，我會開它來環遊臺灣。）
although	Although Jane didn't win first place in the contest, she didn't feel frustrated. →although副詞子句對比主要子句she didn't feel frustrated. （雖然珍競賽沒有得到第一名，但她沒有感到挫折。）
when	When it started to rain, I was watching TV. （當雨開始下的時候，我正在看電視。）
while	Zach and Jenny heard a strange noise while they were studying. （柴克和珍妮聽到一個奇怪的聲音當他們正在讀書的時候。）
before	Before you play video games, you should finish your homework. →Before＋後發生的事件,＋先發生的事件. （在你打電動遊戲前，你應該要先完成你的功課。）
after	After I brush my teeth, I go to bed.（我刷完牙後，我上床睡覺。） →After＋先發生的事件,＋後發生的事件.
until	Meg waited until her friends came （. 梅格一直等到她朋友們來為止。） →until her friends came用來表示「梅格等待到停止的時間」。
