使役動詞命令、要求、讓某人做某事

1.Cindy made me ( to buy / buying / buy ) lunch for him.

Cindy命令我替他買午餐。

2.My sister lets me ( use / to use / using ) her cellphone when I need it.

我姐姐讓我使用他的手機，當我需要時。

3.The teacher made all her students ( finish / to finish / finishing ) their homework on time.

老師要求她的所有學生準時繳交作業。

4.那位女士叫男服務生幫她拿一杯水。
The woman made the waiter bring a glass of water for her.

5.吃多一點蔬菜水果可以使我們保持健康。
Eating more vegetables and fruit can let us keep healthy.

6.我媽媽允許我今天晚上待在Linda家。
My mom lets me stay at Linda’s house tonight.

不允許某人做某事

說明：否定是在make/have/let之前，所以是指父親「沒有叫（允許）我去做」某事。

(1.父親沒有叫我做作業2.她沒有叫我們替他買酒3.他們沒有允許我和我的朋友去演唱會。)

1.我母親沒有叫我買晚午餐給她。

Mom didn’t make me buy lunch for her.

2.我父親沒有允許我看電視。

My father didn’t let me watch TV.

3.Cindy沒有命令我買東西給她。

Cindy doesn’t make me buy her something.

一般動詞ask/tell/want/get（含有指使語氣）

我們老師要求我們把打掃工作做好。(要求某人做某事)

1.爸爸要求Amy晚上七點前回家。

Dad asks Amy to go home before 7 p.m.

2.警察想要那名殺人犯立刻說出實話。

The police wanted the murderer to tell the truth right away.

3.Tom告訴Frank 把窗戶關起來。

Tom told Frank to close the windows.

沒有要求某人做某事

該句型的否定是在動詞前，因此表達的意思是我們的老師「沒有要求、告訴、要我們去做」某事。

我們老師「沒有」要求我去倒垃圾。

1.經理沒有要求我立刻把計畫完成。

The manager didn’t ask me to finish the project right now.

2.我們英文老師沒有告訴我們星期五前把作業寫完。

My English teacher doesn’t tell us to finish the homework by Friday.

3.她沒有想要你買東西給她。

She didn’t want you to buy something for her.

要求某人不要做某事

否定詞not放在受詞之後、不定詞之前，指的是我們的老師「要求、告訴、要我們不要去做」某事。

我們老師要求我們不要在課堂上說話。

1.媽媽告訴我們不要跟陌生人說話。

Mom tells us not to talk to strangers.

2.我母親要我不要看電視。

My mom let me not to watch TV.

3.老師告訴Kate不要抽菸。

The teacher told Kate not to smoke.

比較使役動詞的四個句型

工廠老闆要這些員工一天工作十二個小時。

The factory owners make the employees 12 hours a day. (work)

The factory owners ask the employees 12 hours a day. ( to work)

工廠老闆沒有要這些員工一天工作十二個小時

The factory owners ____________ the employees _________ 12 hours a day.

(don’t make ; work)

工廠老闆要這些員工不要一天工作十二個小時

The factory owners ____________ the employees _________ 12 hours a day.

( make ; not work)

make +o+p.p.  

受詞無法主動做出該動作時，使用被動態(be p.p.)，省略be動詞

1.我必須立刻把這個信件寄出。

I must get this letter mailed right away.  letter 無法主動做出 寄出這個動作，因此使用過去分詞

2.他最終還是讓他的電腦維修了。

He finally got his computer fixed.

3.你必須在星期三之前把文法練習題完成。

You must have the grammar exercise finished by Wednesday!    

4.請不要讓貓咪被帶走。

Please don’t have the cat taken away.

5.他昨天把他的頭髮剪了。

He got his hair cut yesterday. (cut 三態同型)

1.那名醫生叫人洗車。

The doctor had someone wash the car.

2.我叫了工人給我的房子上油漆。

You’d better get someone to drive you home.
